It contains refined sugar (pure sugar without any foreign substance residues), fructose, glucose, maltose and smaller amounts of other types of sugars and only 8% water.
Apifonda consists of 2/3 microcrystalline refined sugar and 1/3 dissolved. This mixture contains, in addition to sugars, the INVERTASE ENZYME in small quantities, which is also present in the bee's body.
This ENZYME causes the breakdown of sugar regardless of temperature, so that the Apifonda paste always remains soft and is more easily taken by the bee.
Due to the microcrystalline structure (1/10 the size of icing sugar crystals) and the fact that the crystals are surrounded by a thin layer of syrup, the intake is done directly from the bee's mouth without the crystals having to melt first.
The composition of Apifonda is ideal, it has been selected based on the nutritional needs of the bee and does not contain dextrins.
